When you request or manage a ride, we may collect:

• Your name, phone number, and email address.
• Pickup and destination addresses, requested date and time, passenger count, trip type, and other ride instructions.
• Accessibility or special-assistance information that you choose to provide so we can prepare for your ride.
• Ride status, assigned driver or vehicle information, cancellation details, and communications related to the request.
• Confirmed fare, payment status, payment method, and limited transaction reference information used to verify that a ride has been paid.
• Basic website usage information collected by our hosting provider, such as page views, device or browser information, and security logs.

How we use information

We use the information collected through the app to:

• Review, schedule, coordinate, and provide transportation services.
• Contact you about availability, confirmation, changes, arrival, cancellation, or other ride-related matters.
• Provide payment instructions, verify payment in full, maintain transaction records, and address payment or refund questions.
• Assign drivers and vehicles and provide drivers with the information needed to complete a trip safely.
• Respond to questions, resolve service issues, maintain operational records, and improve our services.
• Protect customers, employees, drivers, vehicles, and the app from misuse, fraud, or safety threats.
• Comply with applicable legal, regulatory, insurance, or recordkeeping requirements.

How information may be shared

We may share ride information only as reasonably necessary with:

• Authorized Austin Transportation dispatchers, managers, drivers, and other personnel who need it to perform their duties.
• Service providers that support website hosting, data storage, communications, payment processing, security, or other business operations.
• Emergency responders, government authorities, insurers, legal advisers, or others when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, or the protection of rights.

We do not sell personal information collected through this ride-request app.

Text messages and email

If you select text or email as your preferred contact method, we may use that information to send ride-request confirmations and service updates. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. You may contact dispatch if you need to change your communication preference.

Payments

When online payment is available, payment-card details are processed on a secure page operated by the selected payment provider. Austin Transportation may receive limited information such as the amount, payment status, payment method, transaction reference, and refund status, but does not need to store the full card number in this ride-request app.

Data retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide transportation services, maintain appropriate business and safety records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or insurance obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to personnel with a business need. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may contact us to ask about, correct, or request deletion of information you submitted. We will respond consistent with applicable law and any operational, safety, insurance, or recordkeeping requirements. You may also cancel an eligible ride request through the ride-status page.

Children's information

This app is not intended for children under 13 to submit personal information on their own. A parent or legal guardian should submit ride requests involving a child.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice when our services or information practices change. The revised notice will be posted here with an updated date.
